Yad Hanadiv Congratulates the Recipients of the 2018 Rothschild Prize January 2018
The Selection Committee of the Rothschild Prizes Organization, Chaired by Professor Shafi Goldwasser, decided on 4 January 2018, on the winners of the 2018 Rothschild Prizes:
 
The Rothschild Prize in Social Sciences
Professor Maya Bar-Hillel from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem
 
The Rothschild Prize in Chemical Sciences and Physical Sciences
Professor Yaron Silberberg from the Weizmann Institute of Science
 
The Rothschild Prize in Mathematics / Computer Sciences and Engineering
Professor Noam Nisan from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem
 
The Rothschild Prize in Life Science
Professor Naama Barkai from the Weizmann Institute of Science
  
The prize will be awarded in Jerusalem in March 2018.
Congratulations to Winners of the 2017 Rothschild Prize in Education in Memory of Max Rowe February 2017
 In March 2017 Yad Hanadiv will award the Rothschild Prize in Education in Memory of Max Rowe, who served as Chief Executive of the Foundation from 1966-1982. The Prize is being awarded this year to Teacher Leaders who have initiated learning processes among colleagues in an effort to enrich and improve their teaching.
 
The four winners of the Prize are:
Dr. Avi Merzel The Charles E. Smith High School for Boys; Pelech Religious Experimental High School for Girls
Elias Farah St. Joseph Seminary and High School
Hadas Rimon Zimbler Nofit Elementary School
Anat Lancry Kiriat Ata Yeshiva High School for Art and Science 
 
The Prize will be awarded at a ceremony in the Knesset in the presence of Committee Chair Professor Bat Sheva Eylon, Lord Rothschild, educators and government representatives.
 
Former Ambassador to the UK Daniel Taub joins Yad Hanadiv as Director of Strategy and Planning May 2016

Yad Hanadiv is pleased to announce that senior Israeli diplomat and former Ambassador to the UK, Daniel Taub, will be joining the Foundation as Director of Strategy and Planning. In this role he will lead the Foundation's long-term strategic thinking, including developing new areas of activity and building new relationships.

 
In the course of two decades, Daniel Taub has held a wide variety of legal and diplomatic roles, including participating in Israel's negotiations with the Palestinians and with Syria. He holds degrees in literature from the University of Oxford, in international law from the University of London, and in public administration from Harvard's Kennedy School of Government.

RFA for the Visiting Fellowship Programme in Jewish Studies August 2015
Yad Hanadiv and the Beracha Foundation are accepting applications for the Visiting Fellowship Programme in Jewish Studies. Fellowships are granted each year to scholars of Jewish Studies who hold non-tenured university positions (or will receive tenure after September 2016). Fellows will spend the academic year in Israel pursuing their own research while also working with a senior scholar in their field. The fellowship for 2016/17 will be in the sum of NIS 130,000 with an additional NIS 10,500 for spouse, plus NIS 10,500 per child. Fellows are required to confirm that upon completion of the fellowship they will resume teaching Jewish Studies at a university outside Israel. The deadline for receipt of applications is 24 December 2015. British Library and National Library of Israel Conclude Agreement on Digitization August 2015

 The National Library of Israel and The British Library have signed a partnership agreement providing for the digitization of at least 860 Hebrew manuscripts from the British Library’s collection, in addition to 1,250 already being digitized and made available through an earlier project. The British Library holds one of the most important collections of Hebrew manuscripts anywhere. Read more on the NLI Website.

EHF Fellowships for Returning Young Scientists May 2015

The Environment and Health Fund has announced the awarding of three, three-year fellowships for returning young scientists in the field of Environmental Epidemiology. The goal of the Fellowship is to allow researchers who have carried out postdocs abroad, to return to academic positions in Schools of Public Health or Public Health Science Departments in Israeli universities. Dr Rachel Golan and Dr Tamar Weinstock will take up positions at the Department of Health Systems Management at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev and Dr Raanan Raz at the Braun School of Public and Community Medicine at the Hebrew University.

2016 Rothschild Prize February 2015

The Rothschild Prizes Organization in Israel will grant five prizes in the following disciplines:

One prize in Physical Sciences or in Chemical Sciences

One prize in Life Sciences (including Agriculture and Medicine)

One prize in Mathematics/Computer Sciences or Engineering 

One prize in Humanities

One prize in Jewish Studies

 

The prizes will be granted to individuals who have made significant contributions to academic research in these disciplines.

 
Only the following are eligible to nominate candidates for the Prize: Presidents and Rectors of Israeli Universities, Deans of Faculties at Israeli Universities, Heads of Departments and Institutes, Members of the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities, Past Rothschild Recipients (in the fields in which they received the Prize).
Nominations of candidates to the Rothschild Prizes may be submitted until 15.4.2015
